Overview
Izzy’s Wing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safety and awareness in skydiving, is excited to announce a traveling skydiving mentorship and coaching program. Izzy’s wing is launching two coaching options the summer of 2025. Our plan is to bring coaching to seasonal operations with lower lift capacity, or smaller turbine drop zones, although we are open to talking with all interested drop zones. This initiative is designed to enhance safety, promote mentorship, and foster growth within the skydiving community, all while supporting Izzy’s Wing and its mission. All participants will be required to sign an Izzy’s Wing waiver.

One-on-one Mentorship
Each selected drop zone will nominate one skydiver for a special mentorship opportunity.
This individual will receive personalized, one-on-one coaching from our traveling coach to help them improve their skills, develop safer practices, and advance their skydiving abilities. The selected skydiver should be someone with demonstrated passion and potential, as well as a commitment to safety and personal growth. The selected skydiver should currently be a resource to local skydivers for advice in canopy flight and safety, even if just informally.
Free Sessions
OPEN COACHING FOR ALL
The coach will provide free coaching sessions to any skydiver at the drop zone who wishes to participate.
Whether you’re a novice jumper or an experienced skydiver, you are welcome to join these sessions. The aim is to cultivate a culture of continuous learning, skill refinement, and safety awareness.

While the coaching sessions are free of charge, participants are encouraged to make a donation to Izzy’s Wing. These coaching opportunities normally cost $150-$200 to attend.
Izzy’s Wing is a 501c3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. Your support ensures that the Izzy’s Wing is able to support the skydiving community with canopy safety and education.
Partnering with World-Class Coaches
Bringing Canopy Coaching Events to Drop Zones
Izzy’s Wing will support sending Flight-1 instructors to smaller drop zones during this inagural season to expand the access to quality canopy coaching. Each participant will sign up for an Izzy’s Wing sponsored course on the Flight-1 website and pay the Flight-1 fee. Izzy’s Wing steps in and helps with the travel costs, and bridges the gap if the smaller drop zones are not able to meet the minimum required attendees.
As the leading provider of canopy coaching and instruction in the sport of skydiving, Flight-1 works with canopy pilots of all experience levels around the globe. Over three thousand skydivers in more than forty different countries go through a Flight-1 course each year. Izzy’s Wing will continue to develop coaching opportunities with other organizations in the near future.

What are the canopy coaching options?
- Stevie Simpson will be traveling in July and August 2025 offering free canopy coaching and mentorship opportunities. Please have your DZO contact Izzy’s Wing. While the coaching is free of charge, donations are encouraged so that Izzy’s Wing can continue to support safety, training and fellowship into the future.
- Izzy’s Wing has partnered with Flight-1 this inaugural season, please see the canopy coaching skills page on our website
- Inclement weather and rescheduling. Courses taught by professional organizations will follow that organizations policies. Stevie Simpson Road Show will not be rescheduled . The events are free of charge, so participants miss out on the opportunity, but not any impact to their funds.
How soon can I schedule an event?
- Scheduling with Flight-1 is dependent on a flight one coach being available. This could be done on a relatively short term basis
- Scheduling with Stevie Simpson Road Show will need to be coordinated based on his location as he will be “road tripping” during 2025.
Is there a minimum number of participants for a canopy coaching event?
The ideal class size is 6 or more, but we can work with as few as 3 participants per day.
