About

We’re living Izzy’s way – offering compassion and practical support to the community she loved so well.

Our Mission

Laugh Often, Hug Big,
Love Deeply

At Izzy’s Wing, we honor the adventurous spirit and vibrant life of Izzy Bucsko by supporting the skydiving community she loved so deeply. Rooted in faith and inspired by our motto — Laugh Often, Hug Big, Love Deeply — we promote safety and training for canopy piloting through educational events and professional coaching for all licensed skydivers.

Our Goal

Lift Each Other Higher — One Jump At A Time

We focus on canopy piloting safety and hold training events at dropzones across the U.S. The Memorial Fund at Izzy’s Wing also supports injured skydivers and their loved ones during challenging times. Through education, training events, and financial assistance, Izzy’s Wing inspires others to live boldly – prioritizing selfless love, community, and safety.

Our Members

Guiding The Mission

The dedicated board members of Izzy’s Wing, founded in June 2024, are united by their love for Izzy and a shared mission to support the skydiving community. Each member brings unique skills and heartfelt passion to ensure Izzy’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift others.

Notes to Izzy

Izzy’s Dad, Secretary

John Bucsko

Izzy’s Dad, John, remembers his daughter for her insatiable hunger for adventure and her loving acceptance of all people. In co-founding Izzy’s Wing, he aims to support the skydiving community he’s been a part of since his first jump in 1980. John is a former tandem instructor, safety and training advisor, and dropzone co-owner. He’s been a pro-rated skydiver and now works as an AFF instructor. Over the last four decades, John has logged more than 15,000 jumps.

Izzy’s Mom

Dani Bucsko

Dani will always admire Izzy’s remarkable ability to embrace people and she remembers the immense joy her daughter found through new adventures – from skiing, to barrel racing, to missionary work overseas. Dani worked many years as a Chief Financial Officer, and is an experienced skydiver with more than 2,000 jumps – including the one she made as a grand entrance into her and John’s wedding reception. Dani took a 15-year hiatus from skydiving, but Izzy convinced her to return to the air in 2023. Dani and Izzy were able to make two skydives together before Izzy’s accident. In co-founding Izzy’s Wing, Dani honors her daughter’s memory in promoting training, generosity, and community at dropzones nationwide.

Izzy’s Brother

Joey Bucsko

As his older sister, Izzy left an indelible mark on Joey’s life. Through sibling humor and friendly but tough competition, Joey says, Izzy taught him the importance of being unapologetically himself through life. As Izzy shaped him for the better, Joey furthers her legacy by supporting the mission at Izzy’s Wing. He joined our board while finishing his degree at Baylor University as a triple major in finance, accounting, and MIS.

Mike Berg, Treasurer

Mike Berg

Mike Berg is the Treasurer for Izzy’s Wing, and he has a background in public accounting. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for a food company in Minnesota. Mike has known the Bucsko Family since 2002, and watched Izzy grow up skiing and wake surfing. Mike started skydiving on June 11, 2023, Izzy’s Birthday. Mike participated in the first Izzy’s Wing event at Skydive Arizona in October 2024 with his son Steven, and also attended rookie roundup in January 2025. Izzy’s Wing is thankful to have someone with Mike’s financial expertise on our board.

Instructor

Stevie Simpson

Stevie began jumping in 2016 and in his words has since accumulated a couple of skydives. When pressed, he said more than 10,000. Stevie is heavily involved in both high level competition and canopy coaching from beginner to professional athletes, formally working with Flight-1. He holds qualifications as an AFFI and Tandem Instructor. Stevie is also a Sunpath Factory rigger and former tour representative, and he has competed in canopy piloting. He was also an owner and chief instructor at Skydive Denmark. We believe this makes him a great fit for spreading awareness within our sport and educating skydivers on canopy flight.

Stevie cares about the sport of skydiving and all skydivers. He has a unique way of explaining canopy techniques, and thus skydivers at all levels are able to understand and put into practice his instructions. Izzy’s Wing is honored to work with Stevie in this inaugural season for our canopy coaching events.
