Making Every Moment Count

Izzy hardly met a stranger. Anywhere she found herself, a stranger would always become a new friend – from the villagers in a remote part of Papua New Guinea to her co-workers and customers at Skydive Arizona. First, you’d hear Izzy’s unmistakable laugh – big, bold, and loud. Then, with arms outstretched, she’d pull you into one of her trademark bear hugs. Life and people, she believed, were just too extraordinary to let pass you by. We are most proud that Izzy’s heart was big enough for everyone – just like Jesus.

Forever In Our Hearts

Izzy’s Last Jump

All roads led Izzy to travel and adventure. In high school, she developed her rodeo skills as an avid barrel racer and later she attended YWAM outreach and surf school in Australia while also participating in a mission trip. After growing up in a skydiving family in Minnesota, she returned to this passion in 2020. Izzy began to train for competition while also working as an assistant manager at Adventures in Skydiving at Skydive Arizona. She was approaching 800 jumps. But on October 16, 2023, tragedy struck. Izzy – our fierce, fun-loving adventurer – died in a skydiving accident. She was 23 years old.

Izzy’s Wing

Founded In Loving Memory

Izzy’s love of skydiving began at an early age – her parents remember her first dropzone visit just a few weeks after she was born! Over the years, Izzy was drawn to skydiving’s unique camaraderie and culture. She made her first tandem at age 18 and worked at Skydive Twin Cities, which her parents John and Dani Bucsko co-owned. Now, her legacy will live on at DZs across the country. Izzy’s Wing honors Izzy as an outpouring of love – helping direct donations toward safety and canopy skills training and to skydivers recovering after an accident.

Called To Give Back

Our Mission

Izzy had a big personality – always ready for the next adventure, to meet new people, and to soak up all life offers. Her most special gift, however, was helping others to find their own peace and joy. Izzy was a living example of God’s love: Once, on a missionary trip, she left a suitcase of everything she had for families living in poverty in Papua New Guinea. As she connected with countless skydivers from all backgrounds – many recovering from or experiencing challenges in life – she loved without judgment and accepted all people. This inspires our mission at Izzy’s Wing.
